Itinerary Overview

  • Day1:Arrive Paro, Paro-Thimphu
  • Day 2:Thimphu-Punakha
  • Day 3:Punakha-Paro

  • Day 5:Depart Paro

Day 1:


A Flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. One can see Everest, Kanchenjunga and many more. The first glance you will see is Paro valley and Airport. Upon arrival, our guide will meet you there and escort you to the capital, Thimphu, passing by Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge En Route. Upon arriving at Thimphu, check in to hotel, and then head for Buddha Dordenma statue and after that we will take you to Takin sanctuary, where you will see Bhutan’s unique National Animal Takin. After that you will meet the nun’s at Zilukha Nunnery. Later visit Thimphu (Trashichoo Dzong) the largest religious building in Thimphu as well as the central administrative center (open after 5pm, Monday-Friday).


Day 2:

Thimphu-Punakha, Sightseeing.

Breakfast in Hotel, and proceed to Punakha. On your way to Punakha, stop at Dochula pass offering visitors their first glimpse of the Eastern Himalaya range and admire the grand 108 stupas or chorten. If it is in good weather, take in the enchanting views of Mt.Himalaya proceeding to Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to divine madman and a scared place where people pray for children. Next embrace the highlight Punakha Dzong a very beautiful Bhutanese architecture armed by the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, with rich Buddhist collections. You will also visit suspension bridge nearby (longest bridge).Overnight at Punakha (Hotel).


Day 3:

Punakha –Paro (by car, 4 hours)

Drive back to Paro and start today’s tour with Paro Dzong, perhaps the finest example of Bhutanese

Architecture as well as a local religious administrative center .later visit to Ta Dzong, an ancient watch tower housing the National museum, with abundant culture relics .After that will head for Kichu lhakhang, which is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan and ends at a local firm house, where you can chat with local peoples, see how they live and may taste some homemade wine. Overnight at Paro (Hotel).


Day 4:

This morning, hike to visit Taktsang (Tiger nest), be amazed by the view of this sacred temple hanging on the rocky cliff, and take in the beauty of Paro valley. After that we will take you to the ruin of Drugyel Dzong, built to commemorate Bhutan victory over the Tibetan invaders. If it is in good weather, you will see a great distant view of Mt. chomolhari. Overnight at Paro (Hotel).

Day 5:

“D” Ling Kilkhor Travelers (your local Bhutan travel agent) will see you off at the Paro Airport for your depature…
